1. Navy Federal just killed its best-kept-secret travel card and replaced it with a $95 one

WHAT HAPPENED — Navy Federal launched the Flagship Premier Visa Signature on September 10 and closed the old $49-annual-fee Flagship Rewards card to new applicants the same day. The new card earns 4x on travel, 3x on dining and 1x elsewhere, carries a $95 annual fee, and adds a $100 annual airline credit plus up to $120 in Global Entry/TSA PreCheck credits. The launch welcome offer is 50,000 points after $4,000 in purchases in the first 90 days. Existing Flagship cardholders can product-change without a new application or credit pull and are being offered 10x on travel for 90 days, capped at 15,000 bonus points.

WHY IT MATTERS — Navy Federal's Flagship was one of the few genuinely good travel cards you could hold for under $50 a year, and it's gone. The replacement is fine, but it's a $46 fee increase dressed as a premium refresh, and the $100 airline credit is the only thing doing the work.

YOUR MOVE — If you're eligible and don't have the old card, 50,000 points plus $220 in credits against a $95 fee is a clean first-year win. If you already hold Flagship Rewards, do the math before you convert: 15,000 bonus points is worth $150, which barely covers the fee delta over two years. The upgrade requires no credit pull, so there's no hard-pull cost to deciding late — but there's also no urgency to decide today.

2. Wyndham is selling points at 0.68 cents — six days before making them worth 33% less at the top

WHAT HAPPENED — Wyndham opened a buy-points promotion on September 9 running through October 21: 90% bonus on purchases of 16,000+ points in a single transaction, which works out to roughly 0.68 cents per point, with a 100,000-point annual purchase cap before bonus. On September 15 — Tuesday — Wyndham's award chart moves from three tiers to four, adding a 45,000-point top tier while dropping a new floor tier to 5,000. Wyndham says the top tier covers "a small number of our most elevated hotels" and that it will automatically refund the difference if a property you've already booked drops a tier.

WHY IT MATTERS — The sequencing is the story. Buying points at 0.68 cents is a fine deal against a 15,000-point night; against a 45,000-point night at the same hotel you were eyeing last week, you're paying 50% more for the same room in a currency you just bought.

YOUR MOVE — Book award nights at the properties you actually want before Tuesday, September 15 — Wyndham award bookings are cancellable, so speculative holds cost you nothing but the points float. On buying: only if you have a confirmed redemption at 15,000 or below. Do not stockpile at 0.68 cents into an award chart that changes in 48 hours.

3. The Alaska business card's public offer is 70,000 — but an 85,000 version is quietly live

WHAT HAPPENED — Bank of America's own business site is showing 70,000 points plus a $99 Companion Fare on the Atmos Alaska Airlines Business card after $4,000 in purchases in 90 days, with the landing page coded to expire September 28, 2026. Separately, an 85,000-point version of the same card is reachable through a promo-code application link (atmosbizvisa85k.com) that accepts any seven-digit code. The annual fee is $95 — $70 for the company plus $25 per card — and is not waived the first year.

WHY IT MATTERS — A 15,000-point gap on the same card is real money, roughly $225 at conservative Atmos valuations, and the higher offer isn't advertised anywhere Bank of America controls.

YOUR MOVE — Apply through the 85k link, but read the offer box on the application page before you submit. Reporting on the spend requirement is inconsistent: Doctor of Credit lists $5,000, while two other trackers list $5,500. We could not confirm either against Bank of America's own terms, so treat the number on your application screen as the only one that counts. If the page loads at 70,000, back out rather than submitting.

4. Four transfer bonuses expire in the next 17 days, and one of them is the only 30% you'll get to Aeroplan

WHAT HAPPENED — Citi ThankYou to Leading Hotels of the World Leaders Club at 25% ends September 19. Amex Membership Rewards to British Airways, Iberia and Aer Lingus Avios at 30% ends September 27. Chase Ultimate Rewards to Air Canada Aeroplan at 20% ends September 30 — with an additional 10% cardmember bonus for Aeroplan co-brand holders, reported to require a minimum 50,000-point transfer. Capital One to JAL Mileage Bank at 30% also ends September 30.

WHY IT MATTERS — The Chase-to-Aeroplan stack at an effective 30% is the highest-leverage one on the board, because Aeroplan prices partner business class off distance and takes Star Alliance space that United won't show you at a sane rate.

YOUR MOVE — Transfer only against a redemption you've already found space for. If you hold a Chase Aeroplan co-brand card, confirm the 10% cardmember tier applies to your account before you move points — the 50,000-point minimum is widely reported but we could not verify it on Chase's own terms page. Avios at 30% is the one to sit out unless you have a specific short-haul or Iberia transatlantic booking in hand; the bonus runs at that level often enough that it isn't scarce.

5. Frontier is going to South America, and the intro fares die Wednesday

WHAT HAPPENED — Frontier announced its first-ever South America service on September 10: Orlando to Medellín daily from December 10, Orlando to Bogotá six times weekly from December 14 (going daily March 6, 2027), and Orlando to Cartagena weekly from December 19. Three of the routes pick up service Spirit dropped. Intro fares start at $99 to Bogotá, $129 to Cartagena and $169 to Medellín, must be purchased by September 16, and are good for travel January 14 through April 5, 2027, with a March 23–30 blackout. All routes are subject to government approval.

WHY IT MATTERS — Frontier becomes the only carrier flying Orlando to Cartagena nonstop, and sub-$200 fares to Colombia in peak dry season put real pressure on Avianca and Copa pricing out of Florida.

YOUR MOVE — If Colombia is anywhere on your winter list, buy by Wednesday, September 16 — these are cash fares, not awards, so there's no points play here, just a cheap ticket. Note the routes need regulatory approval; book with a card carrying trip-cancellation coverage and don't build a non-refundable trip around a December 10 start date yet.

Bottom line

Best opportunity: the Chase-to-Aeroplan transfer bonus at an effective 30% for co-brand holders — it's the only bonus on the board pointed at a program that still prices premium partner space honestly, and it's gone September 30.

Biggest risk: buying Wyndham points at 0.68 cents this weekend. The 90% bonus looks like a deal until Tuesday, when the hotels most people are buying for jump to 45,000 a night.
