Points and miles have an information problem. Not a shortage — a flood. Every program change spawns forty near-identical posts, half of them rewrites of the other half, most of them padded to hit a word count, and almost none of them telling you what to actually do.
The Upgrade Life exists to fix that. One brief, every morning, five minutes, five stories that matter.
What you get
Five stories a day, ranked by what's at stake. Card offers, transfer bonuses, devaluations, program changes, the competitive shifts that reshape where your points are worth spending. Ranked so the most important thing is first, not buried under filler.
A recommendation on every one. Every story ends with Your Move — apply, transfer, book now, or sit tight. Sitting tight is a real answer and we use it often. Most of what happens in this space doesn't require you to do anything, and you deserve to be told that rather than sold urgency.
Numbers you can trust. Every offer, ratio and deadline is checked against the issuer's, airline's or hotel's own page before it runs. Not against another blog's summary of it. When something can't be verified from a primary source — welcome offers and transfer ratios often sit behind a login — the brief says so plainly instead of guessing. If we get something wrong, we correct it in the next edition.
Who this is for
You already have a couple of rewards cards and a points balance you're not sure you're using well. You don't want a hobby. You want to know when something changes, whether it affects you, and what to do about it — in less time than your coffee takes to cool.
Who it isn't for: if you want 3,000 words on the history of an airline's award chart, there are excellent blogs for that and we'll link them when they do it well. This is the short version.
Where to begin
[Today's Brief →] — start with this morning's edition and see whether the format works for you.
[Transfer Bonuses →] — every live transfer promotion across Amex, Chase, Citi, Capital One and the rest, with current ratios and end dates. Bookmark this one; it's the page you'll come back to.
[Analysis / News →] — when a story needs more than a paragraph, it gets its own piece: what changed, who it hits, and whether it's worth reacting to. The long version of the Brief.

Today's theme: two hard deadlines land inside the next four days — one that quietly shrinks what your Chase points are worth, and one that quietly shrinks what your no-fee card protects.
Chase just dropped the richest Marriott transfer bonus it has ever run — on the same day Wyndham quietly made a third of its hotels more expensive.
The loyalty map got redrawn this week: Hyatt traded American for Delta, Wyndham's award chart devalues today, and Chase quietly turned a forgotten co-brand into one of the best-value cards on the market.
