Today is a deadline day — two of the richest card offers of the year die in 48 hours, while the structural news out of Southwest and Citi tells you where loyalty is heading in 2027: higher fees, higher bars, and Companion Pass behind a velvet rope.
1. Delta's biggest Amex bonuses of the year vanish Wednesday night
WHAT HAPPENED — Delta's limited-time Amex welcome offers end November 4. Delta's own site confirms 200,000 miles on the SkyMiles Reserve Business ($20,000 spend in six months, $650 fee), 100,000 on Platinum Business ($8,000, $350), and 90,000 on Gold Business ($6,000, $150 after a waived first year). Personal cards are also elevated through the same date — reported at up to 90,000 miles plus a $300 credit on Platinum and up to 80,000 plus $250 on Gold, with Reserve at 50,000 miles plus two round-trip certificates — though those personal figures are application-dependent and I could not pull them off Delta's own page to confirm.
WHY IT MATTERS — 200,000 SkyMiles is the largest Delta bonus Amex has ever put in market, and Delta has spent two years making miles harder to accumulate organically. A bonus is now the only fast way to a meaningful SkyMiles balance.
YOUR MOVE — If you have a business entity and can absorb $20,000 in six months, the Reserve Business is the single best-value application on the board today. If you can't, the Gold Business at 90,000 for $6,000 with no first-year fee is the efficient play. Apply before Wednesday night; these offers have historically reset 20–40% lower.

2. Southwest retires A-List and locks unlimited Companion Pass behind a new top tier
WHAT HAPPENED — Southwest's own status-tiers page confirms the Rapid Rewards overhaul takes effect January 1, 2027. A-List becomes Silver (35,000 Tier Qualifying Points or 25 one-way flights), A-List Preferred becomes Gold (65,000 TQPs or 50 flights), and a new Platinum tier sits on top at 140,000 TQPs or 100 flights. Unlimited Companion Pass trips become a Platinum-only benefit. Passes earned in 2026 under current rules keep unlimited trips through December 31, 2027.
WHY IT MATTERS — Companion Pass was the best value in domestic loyalty precisely because it was unlimited and attainable through credit card spend. Tying unlimited use to a 140,000-TQP tier converts it from a points-hacker trophy into a road-warrior perk.
YOUR MOVE — Earn Companion Pass under 2026 rules if you possibly can — that grandfathers unlimited trips all the way through 2027. If you're a casual Southwest flyer who was banking on card spend alone, stop treating the Pass as a long-term asset and start pricing Southwest against Alaska and JetBlue for 2028.

3. Chase is paying an 80% bonus to IHG — and the stack this week is unusually good
WHAT HAPPENED — Chase launched a round of transfer bonuses on November 1: 80% to IHG One Rewards and 30% to Wyndham (both through December 3), plus 30% to British Airways, Iberia and Aer Lingus Avios (through December 1). British Airways confirms the 30% Avios bonus and the December 1 deadline on its own member-offers page. The 80% IHG figure appears in Chase's transfer portal and is reported consistently across independent trackers, but Chase's transfer-partner page would not load for me, so treat the IHG number as portal-displayed rather than issuer-published.
WHY IT MATTERS — At 80%, 1,000 Ultimate Rewards points become 1,800 IHG points, and that lands on top of a refreshed IHG card lineup: Chase's October 1 release confirms 180,000 bonus points on IHG One Rewards Premier ($3,000 spend) through November 18. IHG's separate buy-points promotion at roughly 0.5 cents per point ends November 5, though the 100% bonus tier is targeted and not everyone sees it.
YOUR MOVE — Transfer to IHG only against a confirmed booking — IHG points are the weakest currency in this group and 80% doesn't fix that. The Avios bonus is the better unconditional value: 30% off already-reasonable short-haul Iberia and Aer Lingus pricing. If you want IHG points in volume, the Premier card's 180,000 through November 18 beats transferring anything.

4. Citi raises AAdvantage card fees 52% and dresses it up with Walmart+ and streaming multipliers
WHAT HAPPENED — American and Citi announced on October 27 that the annual fee on both the Citi/AAdvantage Platinum Select and the AAdvantage Business card rises from $99 to $150 effective January 24, 2027. In exchange, Platinum Select adds 3X on AAdvantage Hotels and Cars, 2X on gas and EV charging, 2X on select streaming, 2X on rides and rails, up to $100 in annual inflight credits, a $120 Global Entry/PreCheck credit every four years, a complimentary Walmart+ membership, and a flight discount raised from $125 to $150. The Business card gets 3X on AAdvantage travel, a self-select 2X category, and the same PreCheck and inflight credits. The first-year fee waiver survives.
WHY IT MATTERS — This is the mid-tier airline card following the premium playbook: raise the fee, pay it back in coupons. The $150 flight discount still requires $20,000 of spend plus renewal, so the credits that actually cover the increase are the inflight money and Walmart+ — both of which only count if you'd have bought them anyway.
YOUR MOVE — Sit tight until January. If you don't fly American enough to use inflight credits and don't want Walmart+, downgrade before your 2027 renewal rather than paying $150 for a card whose core value is a checked bag. If you do fly American regularly, the math still works.

5. Copa ConnectMiles lands at both Citi and Capital One inside nine days
WHAT HAPPENED — Citi added Copa ConnectMiles as a transfer partner on October 25 — 1:1 from annual-fee ThankYou cards, 1,000:700 from no-fee cards. Capital One followed with its own Copa partnership, reported November 2, transferring at 2:1.5 with a 30% launch bonus through December 1 that lifts the effective rate to roughly 1,000 miles for 975 ConnectMiles.
WHY IT MATTERS — Two major issuers adding the same niche Star Alliance program in the same week is a competitive signal, not a coincidence. ConnectMiles has a published award chart — 15,000 economy to Central America and the Caribbean, 30,000 business, 30,000/70,000 to Europe — plus a Panama stopover of up to 15 days.
YOUR MOVE — Worth a look for Caribbean and Central America business class, where 30,000 miles one-way is genuinely competitive. But price it against Aeroplan and LifeMiles for the same Star Alliance space before you move anything — a new partner with a launch bonus is a marketing event, not automatically a better redemption. Don't speculatively transfer.

BOTTOM LINE
Best opportunity: Delta SkyMiles Reserve Business at 200,000 miles — the largest Delta bonus Amex has ever run, and it's gone Wednesday night.
Biggest risk: Southwest's January 1 reset. If you don't lock Companion Pass under 2026 rules, the best deal in domestic flying moves permanently out of reach of card spend alone.
Also on the desk and worth a line: the Amex Marriott Bonvoy Business offer (100,000 points plus a 50,000-point free night, $8,000 spend) also expires November 4; Amex is running 35% to Marriott Bonvoy through December 10; Capital One is at 20% to Flying Blue through November 30; and Bilt cardholders have until December 31, 2026 to open a card and preserve the 4% Bilt Cash option that disappears for new applicants in 2027.
