2. American and Hyatt are breaking up — link your accounts by November 15 or forfeit what you've already earned

WHAT HAPPENED — American and Hyatt confirmed they will not continue their enhanced loyalty relationship, and both programs have now published the wind-down mechanics. AAdvantage members must link their AAdvantage and World of Hyatt accounts by 11:59:59 p.m. CT on November 15, 2026 to keep earning World of Hyatt awards through Loyalty Point Rewards through February 28, 2027. World of Hyatt members face the same November 15 linking deadline to keep earning AAdvantage awards through Milestone Rewards through December 31, 2026. 3. Chase is paying a 70% bonus to Marriott — the richest transfer bonus on the board, and the one most people should skip

WHAT HAPPENED — Chase Ultimate Rewards is offering a 70% bonus on transfers to Marriott Bonvoy from September 15 through October 15, 2026, turning the standard 1:1 rate into 1:1.7 — 10,000 Chase points become 17,000 Bonvoy points. 4. Nine days left on Amex's 30% bonus to the Avios family

WHAT HAPPENED — American Express is running a 30% transfer bonus from Membership Rewards to British Airways Avios, Iberia Avios and Aer Lingus Avios, live since August 3 and ending September 27, 2026. 1,000 Membership Rewards points become 1,300 Avios. All three programs draw from the same Avios pool and move between each other free of charge, so the destination you pick at transfer time is not a permanent decision.

WHY IT MATTERS — Avios is one of the few currencies where a 30% bonus reliably turns into outsized value: Iberia's off-peak transatlantic business class and BA's short-haul Reward Flight Saver pricing both reward a topped-up balance. 5. Wyndham's new 45,000-point tier is live — the top of the chart just got 50% more expensive

WHY IT MATTERS — Wyndham's pitch was always chart simplicity and a flat ceiling, and the ceiling just rose 50% for the properties people actually aspired to. The cheaper 5,000-point floor is real, but it applies to the properties least likely to be the reason you're holding Wyndham points.

YOUR MOVE — Check any aspirational Wyndham property on your list against the new chart before you earn another point toward it; if it jumped to 45,000, redirect.
